“Technology has played a role in raising income and driving employment opportunities in developing worlds; and there is a huge demand for IT programmers in a rapidly growing economy and a lot of young people are unemployed with no skill which is what birthed ‘Code2Earn’. With ‘Code2Earn’, unemployed youths can earn a living and create more jobs” said Olusola Amusan, Citizenship Manager Microsoft Nigeria. He continued by saying that the Code2Earn Program is part of bold vision of getting 1Million fingers Coding by 2017.

In the last one year, Aiki Nigeria has gone round the country to train young people on Basic ICT knowledge (Microsoft Office Packages, Bing Search engines and blogging, How to leverage on the power of internet and more) We are happy to scale up by upskilling young people to be technopreneurs as we launch the ‘Code2Earn’ to empower more young people with coding skills.

“The goal is to empower young Nigerians to become entrepreneurs using technology, with coding as its focus, which in turn will help their communities, their country, or even the continent at large” said Bukonla Adebakin, Project Lead, The Future Project.

The workshop will feature experts in the technology industry who will facilitate the training.
